Programs for industrial batteries

30 April 2024

Two new programs for financing industrial batteries for energy storage from the FEC are launched under a project of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan

The first program BG-RRP-4.032 “Support of new capacities for the production of electricity from renewable sources and storage of electricity with an installed capacity of 200 kW to 2 MW”

The second program BG-RRP-4.033 “Support of new capacities for the production of electricity from renewable sources and storage of electricity with an installed capacity of more than 200 kW”

The total budget of the two procedures exceeds BGN 530 million

Main highlights of the program

  • To provide for the installation of LCC of the combined project with the following characteristics:
    minimum capacity of 30% of the installed capacity (MW) of the production component of the combined project and no more than 50% of the installed capacity of the production component of the combined project (MW);
  • The LCC* have a guaranteed (useful) capacity for a duration of at least 2 hours (defined as the ratio of the guaranteed capacity of the LCC, in MWh, to its maximum charging/discharging power in MW, C-Rate being a maximum C/2;

*LCS – local electrical energy storage facility connected to the manufacturer’s facilities).

If you have a plant with an installed capacity of more than 400 kV, the LSS or the battery converter should be from 30 to 50% of the installed capacity of the FEC, and the capacity should cover a minimum of 2 hours.

Who can apply?

Eligible under the procedure are companies from all sectors of the Bulgarian economy, with the exception of those from agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

Centres already built and put into operation after 01.01.23 or still under construction can apply. In the case of those that have not been built, it is necessary to have started a documentary procedure and to have received an opinion from the RISW, as well as an opinion, preliminary or final contract from the ERP

How long is the application deadline?

Application deadline is 12.06.2024. The implementation of the investment under this measure must be completed by March 31, 2026.

What can Solarity offer candidates?

We at Solariti can offer them conceptual design, delivery, installation, warranty and post-warranty service.

Does Solariti meet all the contractor requirements for these projects?

Solariti meets all the requirements as a contractor for these projects! We note that we have already implemented projects under the previous program BG-RRP-3.006 Construction of new RES for own consumption in combination with local facilities for energy storage in enterprises.
