Solarity BG with an award from Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum

Solarity BG was awarded in the category “Investor in Environment” at the 12th Annual Responsible Business Awards organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum.
The company won second prize with their project “Give me PET”, a mutual project with Round Table 3 Plovdiv. The initiative is entirely educational and innovative for Bulgaria. By placing in primary schoold a reverse vending machine for plastic bottles from beverages it aims to educate children in care for the environment. “Give me PET” started in Plovdiv’s primary school “Aleko Konstantinov” in November 2014 and by the end of the school year over 100,000 plastic bottles are expected to be returned by the children, the equivalent to nearly 4 tons of plastic that can be recycled. Soalrity BG financed the purchase of the machine, its installation and servicing, receiving support from local businesses and organizations, including a company engaged with the transportation and recycling of the collected waste materials, a company providing supplies for machine and many others.

The Responsible Business Awards of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum are designed to promote best practices of business in Bulgaria and to encourage other companies to develop active social programmes. In this year’s ceremony the nominated projects were 77, divided into 6 categories. Special guest of the event was the President Rosen Plevneliev.

“Mostly I want to thank the children, because the passion they showed and the desire show us that it is time to think about the environment and to strive to do everything in our power to preserve it clean.” said Naiden Kaloferov, owner of Solarity BG, while receiving the award from the Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Pavel Gudzherov.
